Job Description
The ETL Developer designs, develops and maintains the process of extracting data from source systems and loading them into the enterprise datawarehouse. This position requires a good understanding of applications systems used at the Bank and strong data modeling knowledge. The ETL developer performs data analysis, requirement gathering, design, development, testing and debugging of ETL codes.
Works independently or as a team on data-related initiatives of considerable complexity and scope. Able to simultaneously work on multiple tasks and objectives and when necessary, work on weekends and evenings in order to meet tight deadlines. Fully understands datawarehousing methodologies, architecture, technology and security needs to develop and maintain the EDW system.

Primary Accountabilities:
Design and Development:
Work with business users and EDW team members to analyze source system data and their criticality to the enterprise information needs.
Conduct detailed analysis and validation to ensure business requirements are met.
Develop data mapping documents to accurately capture source data format and define transformation rules when necessary.
Work with EDW Manager to ensure new or updated data sources are logically integrated to the EDW data model.
Develop, enhance, debug, test and maintain ETL jobs and sequencers.
Develop system test plan for ETL jobs and sequencers.
Maintain comprehensive design documentation and issue tracking.
Assess source system version changes and their impact on EDW and update the ETL jobs and sequencer accordingly.
Production Support:
Perform data validation during test and production phases.
Maintain proper change control across production and non-production environments.
Support peers and stakeholders as subject matter expert by providing documentation, training and problem solving as needed.
Monitor and remediate system and application performance as needed.
Provide ad hoc data analysis and reporting services as needed.
Data Governance:
Identify, monitor and remediate data quality issues as part of enterprise data governance.
Work with EDW Manager on development of data lineage, business glossary and other tasks relating to metadata management.
Other Duties:
Maintain technical and business competency through continuing education and self-improvement.
Provide backup support for other EDW staff while away on business or out of the office.
Any other duties as assigned by management.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
High School Diploma or GED equivalency required.
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited 4-year university from an accredited 4-year university in MIS, Computer Science, or similar field preferred.
Experience:
4+ years’ experience in Database design, development, reporting, application programming, systems analysis, or equivalent required (a college degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or Data Analytics may substitute for work experience as follows: Bachelor’s and above = 2 years; Associate’s = 1 year).
2+ years’ experience using a relational database management system required
2+ years’ experience Writing SQL or similar programming languages required
2+ years’ experience Using a business intelligence system such as Cognos, Tableau or PowerBI preferred.
2+ years’ experience Banking industry preferred.
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:
Must be able to perform light physical work and to move or lift items including but not limited to boxes, files and papers up to 20 pounds unless otherwise as indicated.
Must be able to operate and proficiently use standard office equipment, including phone, copier, personal computer and/or other work related mechanical or electronic devices and applications.
Must be able to clearly communicate verbally and in writing with all internal and external customers.
Must also be able to hear sufficiently to engage in daily discussions and interactions.
Must be able to read and understand bank-related documents.
Must be able to work in a conventional office setting, involving sitting at a desk or workstation for long periods of time.
Must also be able to adapt to different work environments as needed to perform the job.
